This policy explains what Glass & Cotton collects when you visit glassandcotton.com, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It applies to this website only.

What we collect

Analytics data, through Google Analytics 4: pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser type, referring site, and interactions such as clicking an outbound product link. This is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
Contact form submissions: the name, email address, optional phone number and message you type into the form on the contact page. These arrive in our email inbox and are not stored in any database on this site.
Server logs, kept by our hosting provider for operational and security purposes.

What we do not collect

We do not sell personal data. There is no mechanism by which we could; we have nothing to sell.
We do not run advertising networks, retargeting pixels or third-party ad trackers on this site.
We do not have user accounts, so there are no passwords, profiles or purchase histories here.
We do not collect payment information, because nothing is sold on this site.

Cookies and similar technologies

Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish one visit from another and to measure which pages are read. You can block them with your browser settings or a content blocker, and the site will work normally without them.

Clicking a product link takes you to a retailer, and that retailer sets its own cookies — including the affiliate cookie that credits this site with the referral. That cookie is set by the retailer under its own policy, not by us.

Retention

Contact form emails are kept in our inbox while the conversation is live and deleted when it is no longer needed. Analytics data is retained according to the retention period configured in Google Analytics.

Your choices

Ask us to delete your message. Email contact@glassandcotton.com and we will delete the correspondence.
Block analytics. A browser content blocker or Google's own opt-out will stop analytics collection.
Ask what we hold. Email us and we will tell you. In practice, for most visitors, the answer is nothing beyond aggregate analytics.

Children

This site is written for adults making purchasing decisions and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
